Harris’s Hawks have a unique behavior called “back stacking” where they will
stand on top of each other when perching spots are scarce. They work as a team.
They will hunt and capture their prey as a team and even raise their young as a
team. Usually a family group of 5 or 6 will stay close and work together. The
young Hawks might stay with the family for a few years before starting their
own family. When a pair starts to nest, The others will help sit on the eggs, feed
and protect the nest.
