While in Costa Rica, you can
hear these birds coming from
a distance like most other
Parrots. Just chatting away
and making all kinds of noise,
Looking for a tree top to stop
for a while. In Costa Rica, there
is a long history, among local
residents, of keeping these par-
rots as household pets. They
are considered family mem-
bers and roost in the family
living area; they are rarely kept
in cages.
