1942 Seagraves 50’ Aerial Ladder Truck that
remained in service till 1982. This was an easy
test for fear of heights. Not because of the height
but once you were at the tip of the ladder, it
would move around like a loose branch. Just the
slightest wind or when the water came rushing
to the top and would charge the monitor tip push-
ing 500 to a 1000 gallons a minute - you better
hang on because you are in for a ride. This unit
was originally a pumper and the men took the
50’aerial from an earlier modified International
pickup.
